Total Quality Management
The schülke company philosophy is based on an holistic approach to quality management that encompasses not only the quality of products and services in the conventional sense, but also all aspects that impact business processes and their respective sub-processes. The objective of this approach is to continuously improve products and services and thus to eliminate defects. As a result, in addition to the expectations and demands of our customers, we also include costs and time as well as the areas of work safety, environmental management, leadership and cooperation in our quality concept. This demand for holistic quality at schülke creates more than economic success; it is also responsible for a sustainable contribution to the environment and society.

Company values
Our company values describe how we want to realize this total quality concept.

Partnership

In our daily cooperation, but also in the long term, we want to be a reliable partner for our customers worldwide. With competent consultation and an all-encompassing service, we ensure that the interests of all parties are satisfied. This also applies to our relations with suppliers and other business partners.

Initiative

Forward thinking and taking action is a major factor of our success, because we have to recognize the challenges of the future in order to be able to offer timely solutions. This desire for innovation also ensures our future competitiveness and the company’s success.

Reliability

Reliability is a prerequisite for successful cooperation, especially in sensitive areas such as hospital hygiene and contamination prophylaxis. Reliability creates trust, and trust is the basis for long-term partnerships and sustainable success.

Integrated management system
The management systems for the environment and quality, which have been in place since 1996, were combined to an integrated management system in 1999. The management system ensures that the structure and organisation of our company are in harmony with our company policy, and at the same time ensures that there is compliance with all standards, laws and guidelines that are relevant for us, such as those contained in ISO 9000 ff, ISO 14001, ISO 13485 and the Medicines Act, AMWHV, GMP, MPG and EMAS. The statements are defined more precisely in the operating procedures , and in the work procedures that relate directly to workplace and processes.

Our integrated management system comprises rules and procedures for the following five areas:

Personnel Management

Environmental Management

Work Safety Management

Risk Management an

Quality Management.

Tasks and objectives

The task and objective of the management system is to implement company policy and the related objectives in the company.

Among other things, it regulates:

structural organisation

organisation of processes

fulfilment of customer expectations and requirements

observation of work safety

save resources

recognition of mistakes and their causes, and initiation of corrective measures

provision of staff and resources.

Our management system applies to our Norderstedt location as well as all of our European subsidiaries and will be extended to our non-European subsidiaries in the coming years. Our integrated management system fulfills the requirements for a variety of regulatory directives. An overview of the certifications of our management system can be found here.

Audits
Regular audits are performed in order to identify potential areas for improvement and to ensure the effectiveness of our management system towards fulfilling company goals. Starting in 1996, we have built up a process of testing systems, both internal and external, which help us to not only meet legal requirements, but also to fulfill our own expectations. The auditing system consists of various audit programs, on the one hand, for the entire corporation including subsidiaries and on the other hand for our suppliers.
Co-operations
For schülke, memberships and co-operations are an important opportunity for exchange. Our engagement for quality, environmental protection, work safety and risk management extends far beyond our company premises. We make our expertise and experience in these processes available to interested groups. Here we also receive valuable ideas from other members.
